Detailsinfo
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in SakaDev (version now known). This issue affects some unknown processing. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-74. The product constructs all or part of a command, data structure, or record using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify how it is parsed or interpreted when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
In its design for automatic terminal command execution, SakaDev offers two options: Execute safe commands and execute all commands. The description for the former states that commands determined by the model to be safe will be automatically executed, whereas if the model judges a command to be potentially destructive, it still requires user approval. However, this design is highly susceptible to prompt injection attacks. An attacker can employ a generic template to wrap any malicious command and mislead the model into misclassifying it as a 'safe' command, thereby bypassing the user approval requirement and resulting in arbitrary command execution.
The advisory is shared at marketplace.visualstudio.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-30306 since 03/04/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 03/31/2026). MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1055 for this issue.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
