This season’s MAFS couples retreat has already proved that a change of scenery does not mean a change of attitude. While the couples may have packed their bags and vowed to leave any drama from Sydney behind, the tension from home has certainly followed.
However, this time, it’s not as easy for contestants to get up and leave when times get tough.
After tonight’s episode, on March 9, we’re left wincing after Bec made a flippant comment about Rachel and Stephen’s intimacy in front of the entire group, instigating another major argument.
And, while fans watch along with their heads in their hands, many started to notice a pattern in Bec’s behaviour – one that a MAFS bride wasn’t scared to talk about with WHO.

What did Bec say to make Rachel storm out?
On the first night of the couples’ arrival to the retreat, Rachel and Stephen beamed as they opened up to the group about their relationship progress.
However, the wholesome cloud they were floating on quickly turned grey as Bec made a speech to the group, commending Rachel and Stephen on their “finger-b–g.”
While Bec claimed she didn’t make the comment with “malice intent”, it wasn’t the motive behind the ill-timed comment that upset Rachel.
Rather that it was the lack of apology and acknowledgement from Bec about how her joke hurt Rachel’s feelings, and made her “regret opening up in the first place.”

Instead of just starting and ending with an “I’m sorry”, Bec decided to throw in an unnecessary “you’re very quick to turn” observation, targeting Rachel, which took back any genuineness from her first apology.
From then onwards, it seems this bride only kept digging herself deeper into that hole… and we’re not quite sure how she’s going to climb out.
MAFS bride calls out Bec’s ‘repeat behaviour’
When it comes to Bec, the sentiment among MAFS contestants and fans alike is that she has a “repeated behaviour” of being unkind, digging her heels in, and then later apologising after she deals with the consequences of it all.
This was made especially clear in tonight’s episode as many contestants confronted Bec about whether there’s any weight behind the apologies she seems to always be dishing out.

Even Juliette wanted to “stay out” of her drama… which is saying something after this intruder bride’s tumultuous reputation the last couple of episodes.
Recently departed intruder wife Stephanie called Bec out for this, claiming she “pokes her nose” into everyone else’s relationship and then apologises later, only to then do it again.
“I think, if anything, it’s just classic behaviour from that individual to be poking their nose into everyone else’s business and not just remaining focused on their own situation,” Steph told WHO.
“I think it’s just purely out of insecurity and jealousy.”
Steph made a point to say that she “doesn’t have a problem with Bec”, but she doesn’t “have the time or the patience” for her “repeated behaviour and repeated apologies” – only for it to end up being “followed by more repeated bad behaviour.”
While MAFS contestants are infamous for being up and down, exploding one episode and apologising the other, we’re not sure how many more apologies Bec has to dish out before she learns… and the other contestants forgive her.
