Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality of the component Hub Endpoint. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cleartext transmission vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-319. The product transmits sensitive or security-critical data in cleartext in a communication channel that can be sniffed by unauthorized actors. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality. The summary by CVE is: Cryptomator encrypts data being stored on cloud infrastructure. Prior to version 1.19.1, the Hub-based unlock flow explicitly supports hub+http and consumes Hub endpoints from vault metadata without enforcing HTTPS. As a result, a vault configuration can drive OAuth and key-loading traffic over plaintext HTTP or other insecure endpoint combinations. An active network attacker can tamper with or observe this traffic. Even when the vault key is encrypted for the device, bearer tokens and endpoint-level trust decisions are still exposed to downgrade and interception. This issue has been patched in version 1.19.1. It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-32309 since 03/11/2026. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1040 according to MITRE ATT&CK. Upgrading to version 1.19.1 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at github.com.
