Detailsinfo
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in TP-Link AX53. This issue affects some unknown functionality. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a command injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-77. The product constructs all or part of a command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
A command injection vulnerability on AX53 v1 occurs in mscd debug functionality due to insufficient input handling, allowing log redirection to arbitrary files and concatenation of unvalidated file content into shell commands, enabling authenticated attackers to inject and execute arbitrary commands. Successful exploitation may allow execution of malicious commands and ultimately full control of the device.
The weakness was shared by samuzora. The advisory is shared at tp-link.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2025-15607 since 03/10/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack can only be initiated within the local network. Additional levels of successful authentication are needed for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
