EDMONDS, Washington. wolfSSL introduced seven developments extending post-quantum cryptography and Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-3 support across embedded, Linux, networking, virtualization, and satellite systems, the company announced in a statement.
The updated wolfCrypt FIPS 140-3 module includes the Module-Lattice-Based Key-Encapsulation Mechanism (ML-KEM), Module-Lattice-Based Digital Signature Algorithm (ML-DSA), and Stateless Hash-Based Digital Signature Algorithm (SLH-DSA), which are standardized under National Institute of Standards and Technology FIPS 203 through 205, the statement reads.
Additional work includes FrodoKEM support, post-quantum algorithms for the Linux Kernel Crypto application programming interface, and post-quantum verification for kernel modules, the company says.
wolfSSL also added FIPS-supported cryptography to WireGuard, Tailscale, and Proxmox Virtual Environment deployments. An updated firmware Trusted Platform Module (TPM) supports TPM 2.0 version 1.85, ML-KEM, and ML-DSA on embedded processors, according to the statement.
The company is also developing a satellite cryptographic module targeting FIPS 140-3 Level 3 validation. The module was listed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology as an implementation under test in July 2026, wolfSSL adds.
