Detailsinfo A vulnerability classified as critical was found in nicolargo glances up to 4.5.1. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown processing of the component REST/WebUI. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a origin validation vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-346. The product does not properly verify that the source of data or communication is valid. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is: Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. Prior to version 4.5.2, in Central Browser mode, Glances stores both the Zeroconf-advertised server name and the discovered IP address for dynamic servers, but later builds connection URIs from the untrusted advertised name instead of the discovered IP. When a dynamic server reports itself as protected, Glances also uses that same untrusted name as the lookup key for saved passwords and the global `[passwords] default` credential. An attacker on the same local network can advertise a fake Glances service over Zeroconf and cause the browser to automatically send a reusable Glances authentication secret to an attacker-controlled host. This affects the background polling path and the REST/WebUI click-through path in Central Browser mode. Version 4.5.2 fixes the issue. It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-32634 since 03/12/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. Access to the local network is required for this attack to succeed. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. Upgrading to version 4.5.2 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at github.com. Applying the patch 61d38eec521703e41e4933d18d5a5ef6f854abd5 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
