Signs of corrosion were discovered in the HALO module, being developed by Northrop Grumman, and the European Space Agency's I-Hab module. Ixbt.com reports on this. During hearings in the US Congress, NASA representative Jared Isaacman stated that these defects could delay project implementation timelines and significantly increase costs. Currently, Northrop Grumman is conducting repair work in coordination with NASA. The issues were observed in the pressurized compartments supplied by Thales Alenia Space. European Space Agency specialists have formed a special task force to investigate the causes of the corrosion; according to preliminary findings, the defects are related to the manufacturing process and material properties. Nevertheless, experts emphasize that these malfunctions can be rectified and do not pose a critical risk to the mission.
