I have been working already for some years on quantum computing and similar stuff but I must confess that so much technical focus has zoomed too much my understanding and my scope in some kind of the-trees-do-not-let-me-see-the-forest way. Is there any more broad scope, maybe naïve, book you would recommend me to read to get a view of the forest? : ) Thank you PS: I know there are similar questions to this one, but I also believe this one is different in spirit to all the ones I have seen before

can you clarify why you think the answers in eg quantumcomputing.stackexchange.com/q/2667/55 don't address your question? –

Most of the answers there are focused on quantum computing and also they are meant to be introductions instead of a global picture kind of book for people with a deeper knowledge. –

if you're looking for a higher level reference focused on the bigger picture. I'd go with a review paper rather than a book. Things like arxiv.org/abs/1009.2267, arxiv.org/abs/2403.02240, link.springer.com/article/10.1186/s40580-024-00418-5. Maybe also arxiv.org/abs/2209.06930 for a different angle. There's many around if you look for revies on the topic. Which one suits you will depend on which angle you want to focus on of course (eg more theoretical vs more experimental), and whether you're looking for more or less modern takes, etc –

I personally like Shankar's Principles of Quantum Mechanics. He gives you all the linear algebra you need upfront, and he's very clear/concise. His YouTube lectures (from Yale) are also great.
The other canonical intro-level text is Griffiths' Introduction to Quantum Mechanics. This one's a little more approachable, but I find it doesn't really elucidate the mathematical models very well. It feels very "here's the equation" without giving insight at the level I'd prefer.
Finally, there's Sakurai's Modern Quantum Mechanics for when you're ready for more advanced material.
