Detailsinfo
A vulnerability was found in pjsip pjproject up to 2.16 and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown part. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a integer overflow vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-190. The product performs a calculation that can produce an integer overflow or wraparound, when the logic assumes that the resulting value will always be larger than the original value. This can introduce other weaknesses when the calculation is used for resource management or execution control. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
PJSIP is a free and open source multimedia communication library written in C. In 2.16 and earlier, there is an integer overflow in media stream buffer size calculation when processing SDP with asymmetric ptime configuration. The overflow may result in an undersized buffer allocation, which can lead to unexpected application termination or memory corruption This vulnerability is fixed in 2.17.
The advisory is shared at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-41416 since 04/20/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
