Chinese 72-Qubit Origin Wukong Serves 47M Users Since 2024

China’s 72-qubit Origin Wukong quantum computer is now available to users beyond research labs, having served 47 million users across 163 countries and regions since its launch in January 2024. The Anhui Provincial Key Laboratory of Quantum Computing Chips announced the integration of artificial intelligence capabilities into the third-generation superconducting quantum computer, improving its usability and connecting China’s quantum computing resources to the broader AI ecosystem. To make quantum computing more accessible, the team developed Origin Brain, a quantum knowledge large model for researchers, educators, and developers, along with the QPanda3 Runtime MCP, which allows task submission through natural language. The QPanda3 Runtime MCP enables users to interact with the quantum computer using natural language, simplifying task submission and providing quantum computing power on demand. The team is now developing quantum-AI hybrid algorithms for practical applications in sectors like electric power, finance, and industry, aiming to enhance decision-making processes with increased precision and efficiency. This initiative recognizes that computational power alone is insufficient; users also need tools to effectively utilize it, addressing a critical need for streamlined knowledge access and application.
