April 21, 2026 | Michael Devins | Endpoint Security & XDR A new IDC Business Value study illustrates the measurable value of cybersecurity platform consolidation: Organizations that standardized on the CrowdStrike Falcon® platform achieved up to 441% return on investment over three years, with payback in just four months. IDC conducted in-depth interviews of CrowdStrike customers across industries to assess the Falcon platform’s business value. Participants consistently reported stronger security outcomes, reduced risk exposure, lower operational burden, and improved resilience after transitioning from noisy, fragmented environments to CrowdStrike’s unified platform. Below is a snapshot of the results: Five tools were replaced with the Falcon platform, on average 86% reduction in false positives 44% improvement in security operations efficiency Security leaders are under growing pressure to improve outcomes and operating efficiency amid evolving complexity and rising costs. As organizations expand their IT environments, tool sprawl creates higher alert volumes and blocks visibility into what’s happening and why. This increases risk as adversaries accelerate their operations and weaponize AI to automate and scale attacks across endpoint, identity, and cloud environments. A sound security architecture is the foundation of a strong security posture. Organizations that consolidate on the Falcon platform fundamentally change how security operates, and they’re seeing clear benefits as a result. 441% ROI over Three Years This result reflects the combined impact of a unified platform and operating model designed to strengthen security. Organizations using multiple Falcon platform modules achieved meaningful improvements in operational efficiency and overall business resilience.   Interviewed customers consistently reported better detection accuracy, significantly reduced alert noise, faster investigation and response, and fewer impactful security incidents after adopting the Falcon platform. They also highlighted streamlined security operations and reduced tool sprawl as a result of consolidation. “CrowdStrike has taken a lot of the burden off the security team, giving us time to focus on compliance, security innovation, and proactive security,” one customer said. “The guesswork involved in investigating events is greatly reduced, and our response time is significantly faster.” 5:1 Tool Consolidation  The IDC study found organizations used the Falcon platform to replace five security tools, on average. The Falcon platform replaces disparate tools with its shared data model that brings together telemetry, workflows, and analysis across the environment. Analysts can work from a single system with complete context across endpoint, identity, cloud, and SaaS data. This both improves visibility and makes the environment easier to scale. “The biggest benefit for us is that CrowdStrike is one pane of glass, meaning one console and one place to see all telemetry instead of jumping between tools,” one customer said. “Everything is centrally managed, making it easier to understand what’s happening while avoiding the cost and complexity of separate solutions.”  86% Reduction in False Positives, 44% Boost in Operational Efficiency Organizations substantially reduced the number of false positives their security teams must address. The average false positive rate fell from 33% before CrowdStrike adoption to just 5% with the Falcon platform — an 86% reduction. Alert noise is a persistent challenge for security teams. Analysts in siloed environments often have to weed through high volumes of low-confidence alerts, which delays response and raises the risk of missing critical threats. This drop in alert noise allows analysts to focus on real threats. The automated triage, correlated telemetry, and managed detection services in the Falcon platform reduce the need to work across multiple tools. Teams can work from a single view of the attack path and respond with speed and confidence. Several organizations noted tasks that previously required a large amount of time are now streamlined or largely automated, boosting their productivity. “Before CrowdStrike, responding to alerts was almost a full-time job for about 25 people,” a customer said. “With CrowdStrike, most of that work is automated or already done, and we don’t need anywhere near that level of staffing to manage security operations ... We’ve split the time savings between analyst work and threat hunting.” The IDC study also reported a 44% boost in security operations efficiency. Organizations reported the Falcon platform helped their security teams secure more endpoints with fewer staff hours, citing its automation, integrated telemetry, and AI-assisted investigation. In the unified Falcon platform, data is connected by design. Analysts who have access to streamlined workflows and AI-assisted analysis can spend less time learning about what’s wrong, and more time taking action. The result is a more efficient operating model that scales with the business without requiring proportional increases in headcount.  Consolidation Is a Security Performance Strategy As adversaries accelerate and adopt AI in their operations, organizations are forced to reevaluate their approach to cybersecurity. The AI-native Falcon platform unifies data, workflows, and analysis across the environment so security teams can easily see, prioritize, and respond to threats. It gives teams the ultimate AI-ready foundation on which to build, activate, and deploy context-aware models and agents to help teams reclaim an operating advantage in the era of AI-accelerated adversaries.  The IDC Business Value study illustrates how when organizations consolidate, they can reduce cost, improve efficiency, and strengthen security performance. This combination drove the 441% ROI identified across Falcon platform customers.
