WASHINGTON – The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) unveiled its 2025 Year in Review today, spotlighting bold achievements that strengthened the nation’s cyber and physical security in 2025. The report underscores CISA’s commitment to innovation, resilience, and collaboration. This report is a snapshot of goals achieved for this past year. Year over year CISA’s goals change as the threat landscape evolves and as we lean into core mission objectives as determined by the Administration’s policies.
“The Year in Review is more than a report – it’s proof of CISA’s unwavering commitment to protecting the infrastructure and systems Americans count on every day,” said CISA Acting Director Madhu Gottumukkala. “From safeguarding federal networks to equipping communities with tools to reduce risk, our team delivered measurable results in 2025. And we’re not slowing down - we will lead with innovation, resilience and partnership to stay ahead of tomorrow’s threats.”
Day after day throughout 2025, CISA delivered results that matter. The agency modernized operations, accelerated threat responses, and worked shoulder-to-shoulder with partners across the government and industry to safeguard critical infrastructure while also being good stewards of taxpayer dollars. Notable highlights include:
Strengthened Collective Defense: Published more than 1,600 products and triaged 30,000+ incidents through CISA’s 24/7 Operations Center – keeping critical systems secure.
Blocked Malicious Activity at Scale: Stopped 2.62 billion malicious connections on federal civilian networks and 371 million within critical infrastructure.
Enhanced Preparedness Nationwide: Led 148 cyber and physical security exercises with 10,000+ participants, helping partners refine emergency plans and boost local and national resilience.
Following Executive Order 14305, “Restoring American Airspace Sovereignty,” CISA published the Be Air Aware™ suite of security guides in November to help organization detect, respond to, and safely manage Unmanned Aircraft System Threats.
These accomplishments will serve as the foundation for CISA’s work in 2026, as we continue to strengthen and enhance our work to safeguard the nation’s critical infrastructure.
